Just a quick note to explain why I haven’t updated this blog in a while. It’s been a whirlwind past few months with a build up to a pretty awesome conclusion.

It all started with my house-mate being made redundant thus leading to a very quick decision that we both needed to vacate the apartment, her for the obvious lack of income and me for the fact that I wouldn’t need to be living there for much longer anyway (more to come on that.) This meant a very busy few weeks of packing up our entire lives and progressively moving it all out of the apartment we were living in and into the new housing arrangements we each had.

That was followed by, for me, a resignation from my job while a plentiful 7 week notice (because I’m just awesome). Then a co-worker going on an extended holiday which I was covering for at work. This caused my work load to be substantially larger than what it had been as well as making sure I was training new people for my position and making sure everything was going to be fine for when I leave.

This was all leading to the ultimate outcome which will occur on the 22nd July………………I am packing up my life, boarding a plane and moving from Australia to Canada for a couple of years! Yep, I was approved for a 2 year working/holiday visa so I have decided to jump into the adventure and see where it takes me. This has essentially caused me to be extremely busy making sure everything was in order and left me little time to watch movies and update this page.

As I’ve had a few hours today spare I figured I should write this brief explanation and follow it up with a few posts. So apologies for the absence and I hope that I will be able to get back on track and start posting a bit more regularly again.

10 years after the horrific murder of their mother after opening night of her Broadway show, twin brother & sister now work as cooks for their adoptive father at his musical/drama camp Center Stage. The annual performance is an adaption of the final play the mother was in so naturally the daughter tries out for the lead role. Now before you roll your eyes at the thought of a musical, i need to add in to fact that there are numerous murders throughout and random moment of bad language that always feel so out of place. Stage Fright is this brilliant combination of Glee & Scream which is hilarious, horrific and musical all at the same time. It was pretty damn awesome! (more…)

Okay so I will assume straight out that you all know the story of Noah & the Ark so I don’t need to give a plot outline here. What I will start with, however, is the fact that I was a devout Catholic earlier in my life but as it stands now I’m 100% an atheist. These points are valid because it means that prior to seeing Noah I honestly had no desire to do so. It was a free screening through work that actually got me into the cinema and considering I would never have gone of my own free will I am incredibly glad this opportunity came up. If you haven’t already guessed, I enjoyed this movie a lot more than I ever thought I would. The trick for me was to shake the fact that I was going in to watch a biblical story and instead go in with the mindset that it was a movie, a spectacle, which was just telling a fantastical story and was meant to be a piece of entertainment rather than factual. It worked and I was really very impressed by the movie, so much more than I ever thought I would be.

Sorry I’ve Been Absent

Posted: September 16, 2012 in Random

Just a quick note to apologise for my prolonged absense. Yes I’m sure you’ve noticed that TV series have been left hanging with future epiosdes lacking recaps and no word as to if/when they will be done.

As it stands, I will not be posting in a chronological order for those shows as I don’t have the time to back track and rewatch all of the episodes. If you were waiting for those to come I’m very sorry to disappoint.

I will start posting again though, as frequeently as I can and will try to make sure that if I start recapping a TV show I continue it through the whole season.

For the moment though if there are any suggestioins you have or if you would like to give feedback on my previous posts, please do. I am here to entertain you as well as keep a record for myself.

Thanks for checking out and I hope you stick around for the future postings, happy reading 🙂

The Standard Welcome Note

What does one write in their first blog entry? A lame & boring description of what this is all about of course.

Oh dear, I can see that yawn from here, but before you press the ‘home’ button and leave this screen let me reassure you that this will be short.
I’m me (yep just me I’m being all sly and anonymous ooooo) and I love watching movies and television (and reading the occasional book) and today I realised that of course the world wants to know what I think about everything that I watch and read 🙂
So that’s what this will be, the random space on the internet where I review television shows, movies (old and new) and the occasional book.
So reader, if you’re still here, welcome and stick around. I hope you enjoy and don’t be afraid to comment. These are just my opinions and thoughts and everyone is entitled to their own.
Happy reading 🙂
